Biography

Hello! Thank you for visiting my page. I’m Miranda.

I am a twenty-two year old student, writer, and editor located in Phoenix. It’s my goal to write fiction that boils and burns. My short stories have appeared in several magazines, and I am the recipient of multiple awards including Paulette-Schlosser Writing Award, the ASU Homecoming Writing Award, the Glendon Swarthout Award in Fiction, and the Maricopa District Award in Fiction. I also placed as a finalist in The Conium Review’s Award for Innovative Fiction.

In 2020, I received my Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Arizona State University and I am currently pursuing my MA in the same subject with strengths in feminist theory, speculative fiction, and Virginia Woolf. I am the lead editor and co-founder of Ember Chasm Review, and work as a freelance editor as well.

I am dedicated to becoming a professor of creative writing and utilizing innovative teaching methods that allows students to think of their art in a more introspective and collaborative light. I have taught as a TA and performed lectures relating to fiction writing at Mesa Community College.
